Chef de Partie

We are currently looking to recruit a Chef de Partie. Bridges Espresso Bar is a modern Espresso Bar situated in the heart of Bedford. Through its commitment to local produce and home cooked food, high standards and passion for customer service, Bridges sets itself apart from other coffee bars you may know.

Bridges is open for Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch and evening Lite Bites to accompany our drinks selection, offering an extensive selection of fresh food menu catering to our customer’s needs.

​

As part of the Bridges team, you'll be a ‘hands on’ team player who brings our values to life. You’ll report to the Kitchen Manager/Head Chef and as a familiar face to our customers will play a key part in the smooth running of the business. We want to create a winning team that will deliver the best service and high-quality produce, ensuring our guests return to us day after day and week after week.

Your role as Chef de Partie:
 

  • Accountable for overall hygiene and health and safety within the kitchen ensuring the highest standards are adhered to.

  • Ensure that company policies and procedures are followed by checking Food Safety and Health & Safety daily and Business Due Diligence on a weekly basis

  • Communicating well with your team to ensure the highest standards continue throughout the kitchen, particularly in your absence during days off or holidays

  • Assist the Head Chef and Owners in crafting and delivering a seasonally varied menu

  • Responsible for all food production ensuring that food is prepared to the highest standards

  • Assisting the head chef to effectively control stock and food GP, and identify opportunities to maximise profitability

  • To train and coach the front of house team to ensure that they have a good understanding of all menu items

  • Responsibly seizing control of situations or problems that may arise and calmly applying the relevant action to address any issue

  • Proven capabilities in consistently keeping meticulously high hygiene and Health & Safety standards

  • Motivational, team player who achieves exceptional results thoughts the operation of the kitchen

  • Is friendly and approachable to both colleagues and guests

  • A clear communicator who can multitask and works well under pressure

  • Someone who has a genuine interest in local produce

  • A positive can-do attitude towards all aspects of the role, who is always looking to improve and have a positive response to feedback

  • Proven high management standards including but not limited to: being proactive, team work attention to detail, organisation and reliability
